New NH Condo Regulations: What You Need to Know
Recently, New Hampshire legislature passed HB353, a re-write of the state's condominium statute. Sweeping changes were made regarding condo associations, and how their boards manage them. This will undoubtedly cause issues among many associations, who are now on a timeline to become compliant with the new statute. Some notable changes were made regarding voting rights, as well as guidelines for how and when members must be notified of meetings. Additionally, meetings must now be run using the latest edition of Roberts Rules of Order.
These, among other big changes, will have a large impact on associations, whether they are run by a property manager or self-managed. Please speak with an attorney regarding legal questions, and note that all associations must amend their documents and become compliant within two years.
